The USDA announced its final rule for employment and training opportunities for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants. The agency says the rule gives SNAP participants access to training and support to help them enter or move up in the workforce through state SNAP Employment and Training (E&T) programs.
The rule requires states to use evidence-based strategies to help participants get the skills employers need. It requires case management for E&T participants and allows E&T funds to be used for subsidized employment and apprenticeships.
