Direct cash cattle trade is quiet to start the week.  Bids and asking prices have yet to surface.  Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until the latter half of the week.  The bulk of last week’s business took place on Thursday with Southern live deals ranging from $110 to $112, mostly $112, which was generally steady to somewhat higher than the previous week’s business.  Northern dressed deals had a range of $174 to $180, mostly $176 to $177, about steady to $1 higher than the prior week’s weighted averages.
