After five years of tight margins for her operation, an Illinois farmer says she has one goal for 2021.
“Oh gosh, hold on. Just hold on. That’s about all I really want to do.”
Illinois Corn Growers Association At-Large Director Kate Danner was expecting another poor year for farm profitability, but says things are looking up for the 2021 season.
“I am walking into the cheapest crop I have put in for the last five years, so it is kind of nice knowing there is going to be more money in the bank, but I was really penciling in for another year of a downturn.”
The Aledo, Illinois corn and soybean farmers says prepaying for all of her inputs could really pay off this year.
