The USDA’s final hemp rule, released Friday, lifts some restrictions farmers have been concerned about.
USDA has extended the time frame for farmers to have their hemp crops sampled by regulators. It has eased some of the sampling requirements and given farmers more options to use crops that test above the THC limit of point-three-percent.
The rule also raises the threshold to one-percent for farmers whose hemp exceeds the current THC level of point-five-percent under the interim rule.
