The USDA has announced the Biden administration will expand Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to support families affected by the pandemic.

The agency’s Pandemic-EBT benefit is increasing by 15 percent and additional SNAP benefits are expected to increase as part of the recently passed COVID relief package.

Stacy Dean, Deputy Under Secretary for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services, says more food dollars will go directly to food-insecure kids living in low-income households who are missing meals due to school closures.
