Northeastern Nebraska Farmer Greg Anderson says higher crop prices have been a bright spot to start off the new year.
“We have enjoyed higher prices here lately and I think those prices will fluctuate up and down a little bit toward the spring,” he says. “Soybean supplies across the world are a bit tight and demand is very strong so that’s a good position for farmers. I think we can look into locking a profit at certain times of the year here that will be a healthy one for farmers and that’s a good thing because that’s what we’ve needed to happen.”
As for planting season decisions, Anderson says he will do what he usually does…plant continuous soybeans.
