Direct cash cattle trade activity is picking up. A handful of deals have been reported in Iowa at $114 live. Bids are on the table in the North at $180 to $181, while the South remains quiet. Asking prices are around $115 plus live in the South and $182 to $185 dressed in the North. While some business may develop today – it’s quite likely significant trade volume will be delayed again until Friday. There was a special Fed Cattle Exchange held today, there were 663 head listed with 175 head sold at $113.75.
