A bill aimed at reducing anhydrous ammonia regulation is gaining traction in the Missouri Senate.

Senate Bill 37 would give full regulatory control over anhydrous rather than splitting it between MDA and the Missouri Department Natural Resources.

Missouri Farm Bureau’s State Legislative Director BJ Tanksley testified on behalf of the bill.

“I think in the end, you’ll see that the companies that are handling anhydrous ammonia are able to continue to have the oversight that they need for consumers while at the same time not having duplicative regulation from two different departments,” he said.
