U.S. ethanol exports during 2020 were 1.33 billion gallons, down 9% from 2019 and the lowest volume of sales since 2016. The Renewable Fuels Association says that’s still a positive because it’s the fourth highest on record and was despite trade barriers and the COVID-19 pandemic limiting demand. Canada was the biggest buyer at 326 million gallons, 1.5% lower, with Brazil at 200 million gallons, a drop of 40% because of import tariff uncertainties, and India at 190 million gallons.
