A Missouri Senate committee has advanced a bill that raises the state’s gas tax but has a rebate option for drivers. Missouri’s major ag groups say road and bridge repair is critical and at the top of their legislative priorities this year. The senate bill, sponsored by Dave Schatz, would require voter approval to enact a 2 and a half cent per gallon gas tax increase each year for six years.
A rebate option is also in a House bill sponsored by Representative Becky Ruth of Festus..
