A new storm system currently traversing the Nation’s mid-section will bring has brought a return of wintry weather across the southern Plains. Here at mid-week, snow, sleet, and freezing rain will again overspread much of the South, complicating recovery efforts from the earlier storm. In addition, severe thunderstorms may return across the lower Southeast. The new storm will sweep across the Northeast on February 18-19, delivering wintry precipitation closer to the Atlantic Coast than today’s system.
