The average temperature for Indiana during February was more than ten degrees below normal.

The USDA says those colder than normal temperatures stressed livestock in some areas, but the snow cover from earlier in the month did help limit expected damage to winter wheat.

65% of Indiana’s winter wheat crop is in good to excellent shape, down 2% from January, but up 6% from this time last year.

Hay supplies were called adequate and soil moisture levels did improve.
