The Iowa Corn Growers Association has made Governor Reynolds’ proposed Biofuel Standard a top legislative priority.
Iowa Corn director of market development Grant Menke tells Brownfield setting a 10 percent minimum ethanol standard for gasoline fuel presents a great opportunity for the state’s economy, environment, and farmers.
“And it’s a win for Iowa retailers (who have been) joining us in asking for higher blend infrastructure assistance, and this legislation delivers with $10 million per year in cost-share grants through the Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program.”
He says a recent study by ABF economics shows over the next five years the Governors’ Biofuel Standard would boost Iowa’s GDP by nearly $460 million, support 3,500 new jobs, and increase ethanol demand by 117 million gallons.
