A study commissioned by the Cattlemen’s Beef Board shows a strong preference for beef but firm support of plant-based proteins.
Co-author Glynn Tonsor with Kansas State University says they surveyed three-thousand consumers.
“One of the first things we note in the report is beef is consumed about three times as often as these plant-based proteins.”
Close to 70% of those surveyed identified as regular meat eaters.
Tonsor says a related finding might be surprising to some.
