A dairy industry group is pleased the Farm Workforce Modernization Act has been re-introduced in Congress. Laurie Fischer with the American Dairy Coalition says a version of this bill was originally proposed in 2019 but didn’t pass. Now, Fischer tells Brownfield the package from Zoe Lofgren of California and Dan Newhouse of Washington state might go quickly through the U.S. House. “It could be as early as this week that there could be a hearing on this bill, and we should know a lot more after that.”
