More than 800 Hoosiers signed up for Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans in January, the first month coverage was available.

Patrick Williams is the manager of INFB Health Plans.

“We went live January 1st and are seeing a great number of participation from our membership,” he says. “We ended up binding 860 health plans, which means we have 2,700 Hoosiers that are being covered at the moment. We’re also seeing an 80 percent application approval rate and we’re very happy with the early production.”

The specialized health plans were provided after more than a year of research to give farmers a more affordable option.
