With the upward trajectory of cash hog prices, University of Missouri’s Scott Brown says hog producers need pay very close attention to their bottom line. “Take advantage if you need some risk protection,” he says. “Especially as we look at prices that are better than we would have thought.”
But, cash hog prices aren’t the only prices that have been on the rise. “There is just all kinds of risk on both sides of crop prices,” he says.
