At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle closed mostly lower, pressured by the lower boxed beef prices during the session. April live cattle closed $.87 lower at $118.77 and June live cattle closed $.67 lower at $118.97. March feeder cattle closed $.95 lower at $136.20 and April feeder cattle closed $.35 lower at $141.71.
A light to moderate direct cash cattle trade took place on Wednesday. Deals in the South were at $114, that’s fully steady with the bulk of last week’s trade.
