A more active and seasonal weather pattern is in store for Illinois residents in the coming weeks.
State climatologist Trent Ford tells Brownfield some forecasted rain events the next couple of days could bring severe storms and flooding.
“Most areas of the state will receive at least a quarter to a half inch of rainfall over the next three days. Areas south of I-70 are likely going to receive considerably more looking over the next five to seven days.”
He says temperatures are expected to drop closer to average or slightly below average for the last two weeks of March.
