The Wisconsin Corn Growers Association and the Wisconsin Corn Foundation is offering their first scholarship this year. Farmer Mike Berget is on the foundation board. “We just felt that we need to get the youths involved, whether they go on to do actual farming or if they go on into a business that works with crops, agronomy, or whatever.”
Berget says their fundraising was slowed by COVID-19 and the lack of events, including the silent auction that was supposed to take place at the Wisconsin Corn-Soy Expo, but he says there is enough to cover their first 500-dollar scholarship.
