Nebraska’s governor has signed a proclamation declaring March 20th as Meat on the Menu Day. At a Nebraska Farm Bureau event today in Omaha, Governor Pete Ricketts said the importance of meat in the diet and the state’s number one industry, agriculture, cannot be overstated.
“We continue to have a great part of our diets be nutritious meat. If we would get away from meat we’re not only undermining our nutritious diets but also undermining our food security here in this country and, of course, harming our farmers and ranchers.”
