Direct cash cattle trade activity is quiet.  Bids and asking prices have yet to be established.  It’s likely significant trade volume will be delayed until midweek at the earliest.  The bulk of last week’s business took place on Tuesday and Wednesday. Southern live deals ranged from $113 to $114, mostly $114, which was about steady with the prior week’s weighted averages.  Northern dressed deals ranged from $177 to $184, mostly $178 to $180, roughly steady to $2 lower than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
