A new storm developing over the western U.S. will follow a path similar to the previous weekend storm, reaching central sections of the Rockies and Plains by the middle of the week. Five-day precipitation totals (from both storms) could reach 1 to 2 inches from the central Plains to the mid-Atlantic and 2 to 4 inches in parts of the Southeast, excluding Florida. The second storm system is expected to produce additional snow in the central Rockies and could result in some late-week accumulations from the mid-Atlantic into southern New England.
