The USDA is seeking input on a climate-smart agriculture and forestry strategy. The Federal Register notice published Monday represents a step toward implementing President Biden’s executive order on addressing the climate crisis. The order directs Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack to receive stakeholder input as USDA develops a strategy.
Vilsack says USDA will address climate change through actions that are farmer, rancher, and forest landowner-focused and that create new market opportunities for the sector.
