Direct cash cattle trade has been mostly quiet through midday.  A few deals have been reported at $114 in Kansas and Nebraska. Asking prices in the South are at $116. The Fed Cattle Exchange Auction listed nearly 2,400 head today selling nearly 900. Reserve prices ranged from $114 to $115. Opening prices ranged from $112 to $113 with high bids at $113 to $114.50.  

Boxed beef is mixed at midday on good demand for light offerings.  Choice is $1.87 higher at $228.80 and Select is $.08 lower at $218.69.  The Choice/Select spread is $10.11.
