At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle were mostly lower, and feeders were lower ahead of Friday’s On Feed numbers, which could be supportive to prices later in the year. Feeders had additional pressure from the day’s higher move in corn. April live cattle closed $.17 lower at $118.40 and June live cattle closed $.97 lower at $118.67. March feeder cattle closed $.85 lower at $134.67 and April feeder cattle closed $2 lower at $139.42.
A very light round of cleanup trade took place to finish out the week. Live deals in the South were at $114, steady with the week’s previous business. Dressed deals in the North ranged from $179 to $182, steady to a few dollars below the week’s previous business.
