Direct cash cattle trade activity is quiet to start the week. Bids and asking prices have yet to be established.  It’s likely the bulk of the week’s business will be delayed until at least midweek or later.  The majority of last week’s trade took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, with some cleanup trade on Thursday and Friday.  Live deals ranged from $112 to $115, mostly $114, about steady with the prior week’s business.  Northern dressed deals ranged from $179 to $185, mostly $180 to $181, roughly $1 to $2 higher than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
