A storm system currently crossing the lower Mississippi Valley will race northeastward, reaching the lower Great Lakes region by Friday morning and northern New England on Friday night. Additional rainfall associated with the storm could reach 2 to 4 inches across the interior Southeast, leading to local flooding. Storm-total precipitation should reach 1 to 2 inches from the lower Midwest into the Northeast, with accumulating snow expected on Friday across northern Maine.
