House Ag Ranking Member Glenn GT Thompson says it’s time for the committee to review the impact of the 2018 Farm Bill.
The bill provided the conservation title about 60 billion in budget authority for dedicated funding over 10 years.
“I would say we’re two years behind of really providing the appropriate oversight of USDA to see how those programs are going,” he says. “It’s time to get USDA and those different agencies representing those different titles, including conservation, before the agriculture committee so we can see what’s working and what’s not working.”
Thompson says reviewing it will help lawmakers craft the next farm bill.
