Direct cash cattle trade is quiet following the last two days of active trade.  The bulk of the week’s business took place on Wednesday with Southern live deals at mostly $115 and a few at $116, $1 to $2 higher than the previous week’s weighted averages.  Northern dressed business this week has been at mostly $184 to $185, $3 to $4 higher than the bulk of the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska. 

Boxed beef is higher to sharply higher at midday on good demand for light offerings.
