Relatively dry conditions allowed Indiana farmers to complete fieldwork this week.
In its first weekly crop and weather report of 2021, the USDA says farmers made progress with tillage and fertilizer applications while rainfall limited fieldwork in some areas.
Winter wheat crop conditions were higher than both last year and the five-year average with 69 percent rated good to excellent. Livestock were reported in good condition, and spring calving was underway.
