Direct cash cattle trade activity is quiet to start the week. Bids and asking prices have yet to surface. Look for significant trade volume to be delayed until at least midweek or alter. Last week’s business held off until the end of the week as cattle country was in a standoff for much of the week. Live deals in the South were at mostly $117, $2 higher than the prior week’s weighted averages. Northern dressed trade was at mostly $190, $5 higher than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
