The USDA says Iowa farmers spent the last week applying anhydrous and other fertilizer, as well as manure and planting oats.
In the first weekly crop report for 2021, 67 percent of topsoil and 59 percent of subsoil moisture levels are rated adequate to surplus.
Oat planting is 12 percent complete, three days ahead of last year and four days ahead of the five-year average.
