Farmers expect farmland values to improve over the next 12 months, according to the latest Purdue University CME Group Ag Economy Barometer.
Purdue University’s Jim Mintert says…”that Short-Term Farmland Value Expectations Index rose to a reading of 148. If you go back to this time last year, that index stood at 84 and if you go back to the low point for that index, which was in April, it’s more than doubled since then so people are really bullish about the short-run outlook of farmland values.”
He tells Brownfield farmers are also optimistic about the five-year outlook.
