Nebraska lawmakers are beginning budget negotiations and one group doesn’t want the state’s ag producers left behind.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau says dollars for property tax relief, expanded broadband and school funding should be a priority.

President Mark McHargue tells Brownfield property taxes are the biggest expense for farmers and ranchers. “We’ve got a good vehicle – LB 1107 that was passed last year – as state revenue’s increase, more money goes into that fund so that money can trickle back through the income tax credit system.” he says.
