Soybean planting is underway for a south-central Nebraska farmer.
“Planting conditions are great. This is the third year I planted my beans early, so we’ll see what this year brings,” says Jay Reiners of Juniata.
He says Mother Nature has cooperated the last two weeks. “After this winter, it started so nice then it got cold and snowy and 9-11 inches of rain a couple of weeks ago. Everything’s come together and it feels awful good to be back in a tractor,” he says
The Nebraska Corn Board member tells Brownfield this is the third year he’s started planting early in hopes of higher yields at harvest time.
