The Missouri Soybean Checkoff is promoting the use of renewable soybean oil-based fuel as more tractors are in fields this spring.
As field work and planting begin, Missouri Soybean biofuels director Matt Amick says there are plenty of reasons for farmers to fuel with biodiesel beyond the fact that doing so promotes a locally grown product.
“It has increased lubricity, it has increase cetane, which allows for better, more efficient starts,” said Amick.
