A new category of U.S. agriculture products can now be sent to Japan duty-free.  A report from Washington Potatoes says Japan eliminated the remaining 2.1% tariff on frozen fries, which was one of the provisions of the US-Japan Trade Agreement.

The potato growers group expects the ending of this tariff will lead to expanded export sales.  Japan is already the largest market for US frozen fries with exports valued at $268 million in 2020.
