A US Senator and two congressmen from Missouri are leading their colleagues in pressing the Army Corps of Engineers to fully and quickly implement Missouri flood control provisions in the water resources law passed by Congress.
Senator Roy Blunt and Congressmen Sam Graves and Emanuel Cleaver have written to the Corps urging it to write implementation guidance to protect the Lower Missouri River from flood risks.
The WRDA bill and corresponding funding approved by Congress would, in the lawmakers words, expedite critical solutions to the heavily flood prone river.
