An eastern Iowa farmer suggests planting conditions are just as important as date when maximizing yield potential.
Billie Danner of West Liberty points to a recent example.
“We can go back to 2019, we were wet, had a lot of prevent plant, and just mudded it in. And the corn did okay in that scenario.”
He tells Brownfield soybeans planted toward the end of June that year yielded 65 bushels per-acre.
