Michigan’s state climatologist says the state is not alone in experiencing hard freeze conditions this week.

“Much of the Upper Midwest had some freezing temperatures, it was even colder to some portions to our west.”

Jeff Andresen with Michigan State University says an arctic air mass across the Midwest brought low 20s, snow, and even teens to some regions.

“You’ll probably want to do some scouting, there likely has been some frost and cold injury to a number of crops,” he says.
