The USDA says four-percent of South Dakota corn had been planted as of Sunday, just a bit behind last year at this time. One-percent of soybeans had been planted. Sixty-three percent of spring wheat was planted, well ahead of last year and the average. Just under 30% has emerged.
Winter wheat condition is mostly fair to good with 14% in the poor categories.
Oat planting is way ahead at nearly 60% complete with 20% emerged.
