It’s a quiet Friday for direct cash cattle trade.  It appears the bulk of the week’s business has wrapped up.  There has been a little cleanup trade reported in Nebraska at $191 dressed, which is fully steady with the week’s previous business.  Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are around $119 to $120 live in the South and $192 to $193 dressed in the North.  Deals in the South this week were at $118 to $120 live about steady to $1 lower than last week’s business.  Dressed deals in the North were marked at $188 to $191, mostly $191, about $1 lower than the previous week’s weighted averages basis in Nebraska.  Many of those sales were marked for delayed delivery.

Boxed beef is sharply higher at midday on good demand for light offerings.
