U.S. corn and soybean planting and emergence this year continue to move faster than in most recent years.
The USDA says 67% of U.S. corn is planted as of Sunday, compared to the five-year average of 52%, while 20% has emerged, compared to 19% on average.
42% of soybeans are planted, compared to the usual rate of 22%, and 10% has emerged, compared to 4% on average.
49% of winter wheat is in good to excellent condition, up 1% on the week, but down 4% from this time last year, and 38% has headed, compared to 46% typically in early May.
