Cool, wet weather in parts of Nebraska slowed corn and soybean planting last week.
The latest crop progress report from the USDA says 71 percent of the corn crop is planted, five percent behind last year but well ahead of the five year average of 57 percent.
Forty-seven percent of soybeans are in the ground compared to 51 percent last year but almost double the five-year average.
Winter wheat condition rated 41 percent good to excellent.
