During the first half of the week, cool weather will linger across much of the country. Additional frost and freezes will occur during the next few days in several regions, including the northern Plains and the Great Lakes States. As the week progresses, however, warmth will build across the West. By Wednesday, triple-digit temperatures (100° or higher) will return across the Desert Southwest. During the second half of the week, temperatures should rebound to near- or above-normal levels across much of the nation’s mid-section.
