The USDA estimates 2021 winter wheat production at 1.283 billion bushels, up 10% from 2020.
The yield is seen at 52.1 bushels per acre, up 1.2 on the year, with 1.588 million acre increase in harvested area to 24.612 million .
Hard and soft red winter production are both expected to be above a year ago, at 730.883 million and 331.594 million bushels, respectively, but the USDA sees a smaller crop for white winter wheat at a combined 220.498 million bushels.
