U.S. corn and soybean planting progress jumped last week.
The USDA says that as of Sunday, 80% of U.S. corn is planted, compared to 67% a week ago and the five-year average of 68%, with 41% of the crop emerged, compared to 35% on average.
61% of U.S. soybeans are planted, compared to 42% last week and 37% on average, while 20% has emerged, compared to the normal pace of 12%.
