Mild temperatures and moderate to heavy rainfall across Arkansas helped more crops sprout above ground last week.
The USDA reports as of Sunday, emergence jumped from 79 to 88% week over week for corn, from 6 to 18% for cotton, from 8 to 19% for peanuts, 54 to 68% for rice and from 34 to 45% for soybeans. Soybean emergence is ahead of the 5-year average and corn and rice are in line, while cotton and peanuts are below.
