The first-ever meeting of top trade officials*** in the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement has been held where they recommitted to fully implementing, enforcing, and fulfilling the trade pact throughout the life of the USMCA.

Daniel Watson, assistant U.S. Trade Representative for the Western Hemisphere, told reporters the dairy trade issues with Canada remain a priority.

“We continue to make our concerns known to them about their implementation of the dairy TRQs and, of course, we are looking forward to keeping in touch with them on those issues.”

Watson says the three trade ministers also agreed to commit to using all the tools in the pact to enforce labor standards.
